Hesse Martone is proud to announce that Bill Clark was newly appointed City Prosecutor for the City of Bellefontaine Neighbors. In this role, Bill’s duties will include the prosecution and enforcement of City Ordinances and Criminal Misdemeanors. He will also be representing the City of Bellefontaine Neighbors in cases that have been certified to the criminal docket in the St. Louis County Circuit Court.

Hesse Martone Partner Chris Hesse delivered the Management and Legal Update at the Missouri Police Chiefs Association & Charitable Foundation Annual Conference held in Jefferson City on December 8-9, 2011. Chris spoke on topics ranging from police unionization and collective bargaining through management training and lawsuit avoidance/defense.

Chris is a regular speaker for the Missouri Police Chiefs Association and is lead outside counsel for the MPCA.

HM Client Wins in Labor Arbitration

On October 19, 2011, Arbitrator Cynthia Stanley ruled in favor of Illinois Plumbing & Heating Supply Company and dismissed the Union’s grievance in its entirety. Andy Martone and Matt Robinson successfully defended the Company in this case, in which the Union alleged that the Company was required to allow the grievant to utilize sick time for reasons other than personal illness. Arbitrator Stanley upheld the Company’s interpretation of the collective bargaining agreement. A copy of her decision is here.

HM Client Prevails on NLRB Charge

Andy Martone and Angie Scott successfully defended Midwest Hauling against an unfair labor practice charge filed by Teamsters Local 682 accusing the Company of violating the National Labor Relations Act through the use of part-time employees. Faced with a dismissal, the Union withdrew the charge on October 13, 2011. See a copy of the withdrawal here.
